It was fun to come back and visit Ingemar and Margareta
and to meet Marie & Ole.
Fika was wonderful!
Sjoard
The Fika was set perfectly!
And Margareta had made a Swedish Jelly Roll for us.
Here they are translating a letter we brought that was written in 1946.
Ingemar's uncle, Josiah, had sent it to Elwood's grandfather Sam.
It was in old Swedish so it took a little bit to translate it!
And Ingemar and I have to make time for some music.
So very fun!
Admiring his new door and new signs.
And Elwood admiring his machinery
And then they served us a delicious Swedish meal.
Elk ~ our moose ~ meat and all the trimmings.
Thanks for a wonderful afternoon and evening.
Our hearts are full!
The next morning, Elwood & I went to Eriksgården
This property has been in the family for hundreds of years
The house and well.
Marianne has lived here for her whole adult life.
The book at the bottom left is the old family Bible.
Bound with twine.
Marianne is a weaver, taught it for years.
She is 85yrs old and still doing it.
She said when she was younger she could do it without thinking about it.
Now she says she has to think a bit!
We drove past the church Elwood's grandfather
would have attended as a child.
then on to Malmö
it's pretty.
And onto Copenhagen & flew home to the USA
