Edmonton Easter Weekend

He is Risen. He is Risen Indeed! I am so thankful that Christ has indeed risen and because of that we can know peace with God. I just finished reading a book by Karen Hughes Ten Minutes from Normal and she sums up what I feel: "My faith instills in me a deep sense of humility and gratitude, reminding me how often I fall short and how much I need the Savior, and how thankful I am that God has done for us what we could not do for ourselves. My faith calls me to try to live a life that is a joyful response to that good news." We had a wonderful Easter weekend: Yuriko doing her job. And Erik his. We had such a fun time in Edmonton... The old Spaghetti Factory, West Edmonton Mall, Ikea, Sushi... We spent Saturday at the Mall. Need I say more.... How was I talked into this?!?!? A surprise visit with Russ & Rosemary in Tim Horton's in Lloydminister.

Japan - Tokyo

Erik & Yuriko met us at the airport! It was so great to see them! Tokyo has the feel of New York's Time Square in places.... And the feel of ancient Japan in other areas. The wooden hanging notes are prayers written and hung in the Buddhist temple. The little white notes at the back on the left are the same thing. Yuriko's great uncle Shuji and Aunt Akie took us out for a fabulous lunch and then back to their home for coffee. We had such a wonderful time with such wonderful people. We hope we meet again. Saw our first Bamboo trees. So tall and straight. The fence around this area was made all out of bamboo. Also my first experience driving on the 'wrong' side of the road. What a feeling! And in our first hotel ( and every hotel we stayed in), we were greeted with slippers to wear, pajamas laid out for both of us and of course, a note written in English. The next morning we got up early and headed out to the Fish Auction and markets. Incredible! These are

Jane Reilly Files

We are so happy and excited to announce the birth of Jane Reilly Files. 6 lbs 14 oz. born at 11: 45 am this morning. Karin & Jane are doing well. So is proud Daddy and big brother Larson & big sister Secily.! Proud Daddy & Grandma Little Anders now looks a lot bigger. Secily is helping out! Cousin Lucy came to help out too. We enjoyed having Travis & Susan, Kelsey and Kyle, Gerald and Jeanette stay with us. It was great to see them again and show them a bit of Dallas. Elwood & Travis worked together in the Regina Tower. Gerald & Jeanette live not that far from Midale. We knew a number of folks in common. A very small world! Travis & Susan now live in Winnipeg. They were coming home from a vacation to Panama. Thanks for including us in your travel plans!
