An afternoon of Glass Blowing

My mother's Day gift was incredible.

The furnaces are used to melt the glass at a temperature of 2300 degrees
And then a cooler oven of only 2100 degrees to shape the glass.

Elwood starting on his glass flower

Adding his color ~ orange and white

Heating it again

Getting ready to add the white

Back into the furnace

Shaping & sculpting it.

My turn....

Ready for some color

The chards of glass that we dipped the melted glass into.

Covering it with the glass.

Doing some sculpting

A bit more with some tweezers.

The finish product has to cool for a number of days.

Pictures will come soon.
