Jan, Darlene and I went to California to help my brother-in-law care for my sister Carol who has FTD, a form of dementia.
Paul & Carol picked us up from the airport
and we went out for a fish and chips lunch right on the bay. So fun.
Saturday we stayed at Paul & Carol's and
helped around the house and yard.
Clean countertops!
Flower Pots done!
Sunday we went to see the Shield girls, Hannah & Caroline,
in the musical Shrek. A great production.
So fun that Deanna, Jackson & Taylor could come too.
Monday we drove out to Temecula to see Melanie and her family.
A lovely lunch at a wonderful winery restaurant.
Gorgeous setting.
Beautiful hanging baskets and gorgeous Wisteria to stroll under.
We were able to see Paul & all the kids after school.
Tuesday we drove down to Coronado Island and walked in the sand.
Unfortunately, Darlene had to leave on Wednesday.
Wednesday night we went to Rob & Cheryl's for
a birthday supper for their kids.
Thursday and Friday were days for little chores.
On Saturday, Jan, Carol & I drove to the harbor
and toured the Naval ship, the USS Midway Aircraft carrier.
Fun to see real live sailors.
A beautiful view
We saw lots of WWII airplanes
We had a fun ride in a bicycle rickshaw.
And ate by the water
Sunday we enjoyed going to their church.
Their backyard is beautiful.
This picture doesn't do justice to their spectacular roses!
Paul took us out for a lovely supper before we left.
Glad we could give Paul a much needed break
from the constant care Carol needs.
