Tracing Isal's steps

Isal sailed from Göteborg on July 21, 1893.
Göteborg is a beautiful city. Right on the water.
It is the second largest city in Sweden.

Another beautiful church that would have been there when Isal was here.

This it the Custom House that he would have left from ...
1 million Swedes emmigrated to the USA through this building.

We toured through a couple of Museums showing life during that time
and also the emmigrants.

He is just missing his hat
Göteborg in 1893
We hope Isal's ship was not this crowded but....

A number of the Swede's went to Winnipeg through Minnesota.
I would have bought this book but it was all in Swedish!
Unfortunately this is called Snuff Boulevard because the Swede's continued their habit of chewing snuff and spitting it on the sidewalk on Logan Avenue. Uff da! Oyyyoyyoyy!

We signed the guestbook.

I had to point out my Icelandic relative on this Viking Lineup!

We have loved traveling by train. So very relaxed
and we have gotten to see beautiful countryside.
We met Rae & Linda in Copenhagen. Had a wonderful supper of Weiner Schnitzel and walked around the wharf area...after we took a short subway ride.

Does he look like a sailor?
The tallest man we saw...
Visiting with another Larson on the subway. She had lived north of Toronto
for two years and she detected our Canadian accents!
Our beautiful hotel in Malmö.

Yes, a Swedish troll. Another sign I saw said: Rock 'n Troll

Love Dad standing in the line . . . although now I think even Isal would advise you to keep your plane tickets.
