We had wanted to attend the Markaryd Kyrka for church this Sunday but they were meeting in a different building. We went to the service at 10 am. and used the Markaryd hymnbook.
After the service we noticed Erik & Ingrid. They introduced us to some more relatives.
Erik's sister and Ingemar and his wife whose grandfather was another
brother to Samuel Elof. Second cousins.
The pastor kindly took us so we could see the inside of the Markaryd church.
We were so glad to be able to see it!
The gorgeous organ
This is the church Sam would have attended in Markaryd.
Originally started in 1200, the tower was built in 1795.
This monument ~ the Hune monument~ is set beside the church and is mentioned in the vicar's report in 1667. They are not sure what the symbols mean.
