Seoul - Part two

We started with a tour through the Gyeongbok Palace.
The gates are huge and the castle impressive.

The Korean roof lines are curved more than Japan & China

but just as much detailed painting.

Changing of the Castle Guard

So fun to see Solip again.

As you can see from the umbrellas, we did have rain
but this was the only time when it really poured.
The other times is was just light mist.

All born in the year of the pig.

Cheong-gye-cheon which means something like
beautiful stream in the city!

We took lots of pictures.

Solip knew of a good restaurant in Insa-Dong.
We walked down a few streets
like this before we found the perfect place!

We found it... quaint and delicious.

Monday night we attended another Theater, this time telling a story with Martial Arts.
It was great. Erik was chosen to challenge the actor on stage.
Of course, he did awesome.

After we left the Theater we walked by this. It reminded me of
Thomas Kincaid, the Myeongdong Cathedral.

The next day we met Ka Ram, her aunt, uncle and aunt's good friend.

Her uncle had to go back to work but Ka Ram, Seong-Sil and In-Sook
were able to join us on the Seoul city Tour. A great day.
We started with the changing of the guards at the Changgyeong Palace.

Impressive! This band was playing ~ notice
some of the instruments were huge conch shells.

If you look carefully, you will see I am the new drummer
for this changing of the guard ceremony. Only royalty wore the
Hanbok clothing I am wearing....need I say more?

TahhhhDahhhhh!!!!

A delicious, fun lunch at Bulgogi Brothers.
My favorite Korean food and
some of my favorite Korean people!

Shopping in the markets.
So much ~ everywhere you look!

We met Aram, KaRam's twin sister.

Nam Sam Tower. A huge tower that overlooks Seoul,
with a restaurant that revolves.

We loved meeting Sonya's brother, JW, his wife, Rebecca
and their daughter Herminie. What a fun supper we had with them.

Being true Koreans...

The beautiful Han River that runs through Seoul.

Thanks Shane for such a wonderful time in Seoul!
