Fukuoka & Busan, Korea

We stayed in Fukuoka for one day waiting for the Ferry.
This architecture is seen throughout Japan.
Monks would be just standing alone on the streets.

Our plan was to take the Beetle Ferry from Fukuoka to Busan, Korea. But unfortunately they had to cancel it because of waves from the Chilean earthquake. So we flew instead. The scene below is one of Erik and Yuriko's pet peeve. If everyone stood 3 feet back from the conveyor belt, everyone could see their luggage and all would be able to get it quickly. Hmmmmmm
Korea!
Even our flags to welcome us!
The Park family was so kind, hospitable and generous to us.
They gave us the best time in Busan!
Their beautiful home.
We saw this active Buddhist temple.
The colors and detailing are amazing!
As you can see there was lots of snow. First time that
they can ever remember snow in March...
maybe to do with that earthquake in Chili!
A bamboo forest
So Young, Mi-Hee and Mi-Joo.... what a fun lunch!
The Korean's win for the most plates on the table at one time!
Yes, we did eat herring.
Korea is very beautiful with such a rugged coastline.
Our wonderful tour guides!

Choose your fish, they will cook it and you get to eat.....
it under the round tents....
...on the shore.
The markets in all of Asia are incredible.
So, so much stuff for as far as you can see.
Mi-Hee, So Young #1 and So Young #2!!!
Needless to say a very fun time.
A couple of random things of interest. This is the Park's family fridge.
The door on the right opens to the shelf in the door and you can reach in and
get the milk out without opening the whole door. Pretty energy efficient!
The electrical outlets... 220v
On Friday we left Busan early afternoon
and traveled by train to Seoul, population 24.1 million
The interior of Korea is beautiful. All of it is mountainous.
Yet many gardens and many greenhouses
You can see our reflexion sitting in the train!
